I’m the kind of person who loves to eat the rice sans gravy. I enjoy taking deep breaths of the fragrant rice and I like to admire the intensity of the saffron coloured rice. Having a grandmother who specialises in this dish certainly adds to the kind of standard I expect out of a simple plate of briyani.

This particular one from Sheik Sabri gets my vote. There are other stalls that won me over but I think this one is the main star for the month of Ramadan, this year. :p The rice is packed in microwaveable containers and comes with coloured drinks and a pudding-like dessert( I think only applies during fasting month). Very efficient!

Oh the last photo is just the kind of uhm, light snacks that we consume during breaking of fast.

3 Things.

Number One:

Remember how I’m such a fan of Sabar Menanti when it comes to Padang food? Well, not anymore. The prices are ridiculous for the amount of dishes chosen and bad service from the cashier. I’ve moved on to greener pastures which is just around the corner. Heh.

Number Two:

I bought a new notebook! Acer Aspire One at a good price and I love how small it is. So small that it fits into my handbag!

Number Three:

Here’s wishing all Muslims - HAPPY FASTING! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay time for tarawih prayers! And glorious food!!!

Taipei reminds me of Singapore except that their buildings are not as clean looking and modernised as ours. Their traffic is hectic and I just think it is overly populated. Too hectic for my liking. Anyway, after late lunch, we took a cab to Taipei 101 and headed up to the observatory floor to take an aerial view of the city. It was magnificent. Do you know that it only takes 39 sec for the elevator to reach the 89th floor? AWESOME.

We, then headed to Shilin Night Market to check out the clothes, shoes and lingerie sold there. We took the train and alighted at Jiantan. It was quite an experience, I should say.

I love the smell of rain. And the smell of wet grass. And damped soil.

Well, it is raining as we speak. Heavily too. Beautiful.

Anyway, I need to give my toilet a scrubadubdub now. Oh, I messed up my lunch just now. My fried rice turned out mashy and looked more like risotto which is utterly disgusting since I did not intend to have risotto but FRIED RICE hence, I dug out my last cup of instant noodles from Indonesia and wolfed it down because my tongue was all set to taste SALT AND MSG and nothing else but that. I was also browsing through photographs of cupcakes and I had a sudden craving for chocolate cake and I KNOW that I have a tupperware filled with slices of glorious chocolate cake from my birthday in July…..

Sigh. Sadly, the cake did NOT taste like chocolate anymore and it had some..fungus thingy on it. And…nope. Didn’t taste like chocolate cake at all.

Off into the bin, it goes………………………….

Too Cute.

And now, I shall proceed to the gym before my lazy ass gets bigger and even lazier. I’ll annoy you guys later.

xoxo
